Melanie Glass,
DVM

Melanie Glass,
DVM

Although a native of Kansas City, Missouri, Dr. Melanie Glass has delightedly called New York home for over 8 years. After completing her undergraduate degree at Boston University and her veterinary studies at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, she moved to NYC in 2015 for a one year rotating internship at the ASPCA Animal Hospital in Manhattan. Dr. Glass spent over 5 additional years as a staff veterinarian with the ASPCA and subsequently worked at various non-profits and clinics in the city as a per diem.

Dr. Glass has worked with Pearly Bites from its inception. Initially starting as per diem, she is thrilled to join this exceptional team full time. Dr. Glass is extremely passionate about dentistry, finding the improvement to quality of life and systemic health after dental care one of the most rewarding parts about being a vet. Her other professional interests include soft tissue surgery, anesthesia/analgesia, and animal welfare. Dr. Glass is particularly interested in feline medicine and surgery, seeking to advocate for the special considerations required for the comfort and care of cats both as patients and pets.

When not working, Dr. Glass enjoys road running around New York, vegan baking experiments, and screenplay writing. She currently lives in Manhattan with her cats, Christina Crawford, Rosalind Franklin, and Starfish.
